How to Prepare a Specification for a Leather Cosmetic Bag
Define size, construction, lining, branding and sample checks before requesting a quotation for a custom leather cosmetic bag.
A clear specification helps a buyer and a manufacturer discuss the same product. Start with its intended use: a compact everyday makeup pouch, a travel cosmetic bag, or part of a branded gift set. Explain what it must hold and how it will be carried.
Agree the size and construction
Provide a drawing or reference image and identify the finished dimensions. Agree how length, height and depth will be measured, particularly for soft or curved bags. State whether the dimensions describe the empty exterior or the usable interior. Note the opening shape, base construction, pocket layout and preferred zipper position.
Describe materials and appearance
Identify the leather type or submit a swatch for discussion rather than relying on the word “premium.” Specify the desired colour, surface feel, grain appearance and stiffness. Describe the lining, thread, zipper and hardware finish. If easy cleaning or resistance to particular cosmetics matters, identify the intended exposure and agree suitable sample checks with the supplier.
Include branding and packaging
Show the logo artwork, size, placement and preferred application method. Packaging requirements may affect the quotation, so include the individual packing format and any labels, inserts or gift boxes.
Before requesting a quote
- Supply a drawing, reference images and intended contents.
- Define finished dimensions and the measurement method.
- List leather, lining, zipper, hardware and colour preferences.
- Mark the logo position and provide usable artwork.
- State the planned quantity, destination and target schedule.
- Identify sample checks and points needing supplier advice.
Review the sample against the agreed specification and record any changes before approving production. Explore the leather cosmetic bag range, or send your specification for a quotation.
