Trade fairs can help brand teams meet suppliers and compare product directions in person. If you are evaluating a Canton Fair leather handbag supplier or a Canton Fair leather goods OEM manufacturer, use the conversation to understand product fit, sampling and production terms—not just to collect catalogues.
This checklist is designed for private-label brands, retailers and sourcing teams looking for leather handbags or coordinated small leather goods.
1. Prepare a clear product brief before the fair
Bring reference photos, sketches or a sample, then note the details a supplier needs to assess the project:
- Bag type, intended use, target dimensions and capacity.
- Leather type, texture, colour and finish; lining, pockets and construction.
- Hardware, closures, strap attachments and logo placement.
- Packaging requirements, target quantity per style and preferred delivery window.
You do not need every detail finalized. Mark what is fixed and what is open for discussion so suppliers can respond consistently.
2. Compare suppliers against your product—not only the display
Ask whether the supplier regularly works with your product category and construction level. Review relevant examples, material options and the steps involved in developing a sample. Clarify which specifications must be supplied by your team and which can be discussed during development.
Use the same questions with each shortlisted supplier. This makes it easier to compare capabilities, communication and project fit after the fair.
3. Treat sampling as a specification check
A sample lets both sides review the shape, scale, materials, construction and branding before bulk production. Agree in writing on the sample scope, materials, revisions, fee, timing and courier arrangements. Record any changes requested after reviewing the sample.
For MINGLUN’s current sample and order terms, see the OEM and private-label guide.
4. Confirm MOQ for each production route
Always ask whether the minimum order applies per style, colour or total order, and whether it changes with materials or custom details. A low-MOQ offer should be tied to a clear product route and confirmed specifications.
At MINGLUN, company catalogue styles start at 20 units per style for customisation. Production based on your own product, sample or design starts at 100 units per style. Final feasibility depends on the project brief.
5. Compare the full quotation and delivery plan
Ask for a written quotation that identifies the style, materials, approved specifications, quantity, sample arrangements, production timing, payment schedule and shipping method. Confirm whether freight is included or quoted separately, who arranges collection, and what documents are needed for your destination. Do not compare unit prices until the scope is aligned.
6. Send a structured follow-up after the fair
Within your follow-up, include your company name, the product reference discussed, target quantity per style, material and branding requirements, destination and any unresolved questions. Attach the latest drawing or reference image and label the version so everyone is working from the same brief.
